Keyboard shortcuts

Press ? or click the ? button in the top bar to open the help overlay. It lists the Navigate, Actions, and Hub keys. To close it, press ? or Esc, click the X, or click outside the dialog.

The navigation keys move the selection in the file tree on the left.

Key Action
↓ or j Select the next item. After the last item, the selection goes back to the first. With nothing selected, it selects the first item.
↑ or k Select the previous item. Before the first item, the selection goes to the last. With nothing selected, it selects the last item.
→ or l Expand a collapsed item. If the item is already expanded, select its first child. On an item with no children, nothing happens. With nothing selected, it selects the first item.
← or h Collapse an expanded item. Otherwise, select its parent. On a top-level item, nothing happens. With nothing selected, it selects the last item.
Enter Show the preview of the selected file again. The help overlay calls this “Select item”.
Esc Close the open dialog. If no dialog is open and the health view is on screen, close the health view.

The navigation keys do nothing while you hold Ctrl, Alt, or Meta. So in Claude Code Hub, Ctrl+Alt+← and Ctrl+Alt+→ switch apps and do not move the tree selection.

Key Action
e Open the selected file in your editor. The app uses the EDITOR environment variable, or code (VS Code) when it is not set.
r Refresh the data. This clears the 30-second scan cache and reads the files from disk again.
t Toggle between light and dark mode.
Shift+P Open the Switch Project picker.
? Show or hide the help overlay.

No key opens the health view. Click Analyze in the top bar to open it. For more, see Analyze memory with Claude.

  • While you type in a text box, the app ignores all of these keys.
  • While a dialog is open, only Esc works. It closes the dialog. In the help overlay, ? also closes it. The app ignores the keys on this page until you close the dialog. The project picker has its own keys. See Project picker.

Press Shift+P or click the folder button with the project name in the top bar to open the picker. Type in the filter box to filter the list of recent projects.

Key Action
↓ or Ctrl+N Move down the list.
↑ or Ctrl+P Move up the list.
Enter Switch to the highlighted project.
Esc Close the picker.

Click + Add path… to type a full directory path. In that form, Enter switches to the path you typed, and Esc goes back to the list. It does not close the picker. For more, see Browse memory files.

These keys work only when the app runs inside Claude Code Hub. The app sends them to the hub. When the app runs on its own, the help overlay does not show the Hub group.

Key Action
Ctrl+Alt+← or Ctrl+Alt+→ Go to the previous or next hub app.
Alt+1 to Alt+9 Go to a hub app by its number.
Ctrl+Alt+P Open the hub project picker.
Ctrl+Alt+W Open the hub config-dir picker. The help overlay does not list this key.
Ctrl+Alt+A Open the hub app launcher. The help overlay does not list this key.

For more, see Run inside Claude Code Hub.
