Getting started

Claude Code Hub runs four Claude Code tools on your machine and shows them in one browser window: Kanban, Marketplace, Cost, and Memory Diagnoser. The hub has no tabs or buttons of its own. You move between the tools with the keyboard.

  • Node.js 18 or later.
  • Claude Code, installed. The tools read its files from your Claude config dir, ~/.claude by default.
Terminal window
npx claude-code-hub --open

The hub starts the four tools as child processes, then prints a banner:

Claude Code Hub running at http://localhost:3540/?token=<token>
Type "q" or "exit" to stop the server

--open opens that URL in your default browser. The token in the URL lets the browser in. The hub then sets a cookie and removes the token from the address bar, so you need the URL only once per browser. See Security and the hub token.

The default port is 3540. If it is busy, the hub uses a free port and prints it in the banner. The tools have their own default ports, 3541 to 3544, with the same fallback. See CLI and configuration.

To stop the hub, type q or exit in its terminal, or press Ctrl+C. The hub stops the four tools too.

The hub opens on Kanban. The whole window is the tool that is on screen. To go to the next tool, press Ctrl+Alt+→. To jump to a tool, press Alt+1 to Alt+4:

Key Tool
Alt+1 Kanban
Alt+2 Marketplace
Alt+3 Cost
Alt+4 Memory Diagnoser

The keys work while focus is inside a tool. See Move between the tools.

The hub page is a progressive web app. In Chrome or Edge, use the install button in the address bar to open the hub in its own window, with no browser UI. The cookie from your first visit lets the app window in, so it needs no token.

The app window opens the address you installed it from, so keep the hub on the same port.

Kanban shows tasks and sessions without any setup. For the agent log, live subagents, waiting-for-you badges, and context window use, install its hooks:

Terminal window
npx claude-code-kanban --install

The hooks and the status line are installed in one Claude config dir. If you use more than one dir, run the command for each dir, with CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR set to that dir. See the Kanban docs for details.

The hub ships a Claude Code plugin with the hub-builder skill. With the skill, an agent can patch or fork a tool, write a new app for the hub, make a custom color theme, or fix a hub problem.

Terminal window
npx claude-code-hub --install

See Install the hub plugin for the config dir it goes into and when to run it again.
