Markdown views
The board renders markdown the same way everywhere: in the session log, in message details, in file previews and panes, and on show cards. This page covers the views that go past plain markdown.
Call stacks
Section titled “Call stacks”A code block with the callstack tag renders as a tree of calls. Claude writes one when it explains how code runs, and the show skill teaches it the notation.
The source of a call stack:
```callstack handleCheckout src/routes/checkout.ts:24 validateCart throws on an empty cart placeOrder * src/orders/place.ts:40 chargeCard src/payments/charge.ts:31 ~ 2 SDK frames PaymentsClient.charge node_modules/pay-sdk/client.js:112 HttpClient.request node_modules/pay-sdk/http.js:58+ sendReceipt src/email/receipt.ts:9- logOrder src/orders/log.ts:5```How to read it:
- The caller is on top. Each callee is one level in, under its caller, and the board draws the tree lines.
- The note on the right is a
path:linein the project, or a few words. *marks the frame to look at.- A
+line is a frame that a change adds, in green. A-line is a frame that it removes, in red. - A
~ N <what> framesline stands for frames you can skip, such as library or runtime code.
A ~ line with frames under it is a fold. It starts closed, unless it holds the * frame or a frame that the change adds or removes. Click it, or press Enter or Space on it, to open or close it.
Any frame with callees folds the same way. Click the frame to hide its callees, and click again to show them.
Open a file at a line
Section titled “Open a file at a line”Click a path:line note to open that file at that line:
- From the session log or a show card, the file opens as a pane of the session, at that line. When the terminal covers the pane, a toast says the file was added as a pane, with an Open button.
- Shift+click opens the file in the preview instead. The preview marks the line.
- In a preview or other dialog, or with no session open, the file opens in the preview.
The path is relative to the project of the session.
Mermaid diagrams
Section titled “Mermaid diagrams”A mermaid code block draws a diagram: a flowchart, a sequence, states and the other mermaid types. The board draws it in the colors of its theme, light or dark, so a diagram matches the page around it. When you change the theme, the diagrams change with it.
Line numbers in file previews
Section titled “Line numbers in file previews”A preview of a source or text file has a gutter of line numbers on the left. When you open a file at a line from a call stack, the preview or pane marks that line with a band and scrolls to it.
